Abstract
The onset of oscillatory convection in a horizontal sparsely packed porous layer saturated with viscoelastic fluid which is heated from below is analyzed. A linear stability analysis based on the normal mode technique is used to study the eigen value problem with the free-free and isothermal boundaries. Darcy-Rayleigh number on the onset of stationary and oscillatory convection has been derived and effects of various viscoelastic properties and Darcy number have been examined.
